Polmaily Cottages are situated just 2 miles west of the village of Drumnadrochit, these two attractive, separately-sited, detached cottages at Polmaily are set on a hillside above the wooded valley of the River Enrick. They are off the beaten tourist track and ideally placed for exploring all the magnificent Highland scenery which surrounds them. Just 3 miles south is Castle Urquhart on the side of Loch Ness where 'monster' sightings have been recorded. To the west is Hamish Macbeth's Plockton and The Isle of Skye and northwards is the stunning scenery of Glen Affric where The Last of The Mohicans was filmed in this miniature Canadian-Rockies-like scenery many years ago.
Both sides of Loch Ness can be explored by car or by boat; and as well as the loch-fishing (where fishing and boat must be paid for) fishing for brown trout and salmon is included for cottage tenants on the owners' stretch of the (spate) River Enrick. There is excellent walking on Forestry Commission land roundabout; there is golf and riding nearby; and the chairlift up Ben Nevis at Aonoch Mhor (skiing in winter) is only a 45 minute drive away.
Polmaily Bothy is an old stone bothy, architecturally re-designed internally, which stands detached with its own pretty patio-garden, at the edge of what was, formerly, a traditional farm-steading. Double-glazed, and very cosy with its wood-burning stove, it has a stone-flagged floor and wooden beams. Its wide doorways and level flooring make it ideal for the less able. It is altogether a most comfortable house for all seasons of the year. Heating is by wood-burning stove, and total-control central-heating. We regret no pets. A refundable householders deposit is required.
Polmaily Cottage is another comfortable family house, originally two cottages but now completely modernised, into one very convenient south-facing house. The cottage has forestry behind it where roe-deer, a wide variety of birds, squirrels, and sometimes pine-martens are seen. It enjoys fine views across a pretty garden to the woods and hills of Glen Urquhart beyond. Heating is by Rayburn, total-control central-heating and open-fire. One small dog by arrangement. A refundable householders deposit is required.

Polmaily Bothy (sleeps 5/6). Downstairs: open plan sitting/dining room, kitchen area, 1 double bedroom, shower, WC and basin. Upstairs: 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom, WC and basin.
Polmaily Cottage (sleeps 6, single storey). Sitting room, kitchen/dining room, utility room, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 adult sized bunk beds, bathroom with bath, WC and basin, 2nd WC and basin.
Fuel for the wood burning stoves and central heating not included in the rental price. Bed linen included in the rental price, towels can be hired. TV, electric-cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, open fire, garden with furniture, barbecue, cot for hire. One small dog by arrangement at Polmaily Cottage only.
